WHAT IS IT? A community music, drama and art program for ages 7-14!!
INSTRUCTORS: Music instruction by Patrice Yearwood. Teacher of many – public school, Musikgarten, church music, private lessons and lots of drama too for 40 plus years… ouch, that sounds old but I’m just getting started… music classes, private voice & piano lessons, former artistic director / founder of Blacksburg Children’s Chorale, currently music director at St. Michael Lutheran.
Stage instruction by Joelle Shenk. Joelle brings 20 years of teaching theatre and public presentation to the table. She LOVES sharing the joys of theatre, helping children gain confidence and have a blast while doing so. Her favorite things are currently eating interesting food and reading children’s stories… out loud.
Art instruction by Louann Thompson. I have been an educator for many years. Art and children have always been a love of mine. I taught Elementary Art at Gilbert Linkous for 22 years. Now I have continued my love for art by teaching Art Education and supervising Art Ed student teachers at Radford University. My favorite quote by Pablo Picasso is “Every child is an artist: the problem is staying an artist when you grow up.”
